↑ Resplendent, fully restored in its original colour, under autumnal trees, the Honda Life awaits a visit from its previous long-term owner, approximately 18 months after he sold it to Kelly St Classics (more details below). It's early April, 2024.
For a long time I've wanted to add a classic Japanese Kei car to the collection. The Kei car phenomenon is an interesting one to me, and spawned many interesting, innovative, fuel-efficient cars that have a distinct and important place in automotive history.
In October 2022 my search finally concluded, when I put an offer in on a gorgeously original and loved car being sold by its 73yo owner for the past 41 years. He was the 2nd owner, and purchased it in 1981 when the car was 9 years old. Both owners have kept meticulous records of every service and other work done to the car, and the odometer presently reads just under 70,000 miles.
Despite my offer being 3rd in line, it was eventually accepted by the lovely owner who valued the car's secure future more than merely dollars which was really appreciated. It has definitely found the perfect home here at Kelly St Classics!
