1962 Fiat 500 D - other restoration work

New brakes

New shock absorbers, spring pads, brake hoses.

All suspension components fully stripped, repainted and refitted.

All underbody areas sealed as per original, and all box and hollow sections have fishoil injected.

Floor resealed after small stress cracks welded and all surface rust treated.

Correct 'headlining' panel and padded head protectors in place.

Despite many well-regarded sources claiming engine bays were factory finished in the body colour, careful stripping of the engine bay clearly shows it has always been black.

After etch priming and primer surfacer, the decision was finally made to refinish in black, not red.

Rebuilt engine finally in place.

Many errors in the previous assembly were found, on almost every area of the car - steering, transmission, suspension, electrics, interior, on and on it went...details to come.
