I owned this beautiful Mercedes wagon for 15 years. It is the car that turned me on to Mercedes as a marque, and the W123 specifically. It is unequivocally an example of the best car ever made! The above photo was taken when it was fitted with AMG 15" wheels, and sported the Victorian (Australia) Custom Plates "MBWAGN". I had a brand new 'long' engine built early in my ownership by the renowned Greg Wood in Melbourne, which was fitted at 237000km. Now at 351000km the engine is still beautifully healthy, and has been meticulously serviced (by me) with Castrol oil, new filter and tappet adjustment every 10000km or less.
The photos below were taken many years later, in late 2018, when the car had been on restricted-use Club Permit registration for some years, and was finally and reluctantly offered for sale. It has now sold to a great new owner who has known of the car for some years. I am happy it has gone to a great new custodian!
