What a gem! This has to be the ultimate guitar for the serious Goldentone amplifier collector.

This guitar would have been made in Japan (MIJ) in the 1960s, but obviously imported and distributed by Rose Music, the same company that manufactured Goldentone amplifiers in Melbourne. I am quite certain it is an Aria by the build details and super-cool look.

Rose Music evolved from Rose, Morris & Co, a British compnay that set up an Australian operation in Melbourne in 1948. Rose, Morris & co (Australia) Pty Ltd changed its name to Rose Music in about 1965 (some commentators say as early as 1963, while others say 1966), and the logo made famous on Goldentone amplifiers (with the stylised 'conductor' with the letters RM underneath) was adopted.

It is this mid-1960s logo that shows on the headstock of this guitar (see the detailed photographs in the 'more pictures' link below).

This 1960s vintage guitar is in phenomenal condition. It plays as well as it looks, with nice low action. It comes in a near-new hard case that suits the guitar well.
