Rickenbackers are a wonderfully individual guitar, and the name has been around since the very earliest days of electric guitars. 1958 was a pivotal year for Rickenbacker, when the classic models were introduced.

The 340 (a 330 with a third pickup) was one of those models, and has been produced from February 1958 until the present day, a remarkable achievement.

The 340/6 (6-string) features a semi-acoustic hollow body with the top, sides, and ribbing carved from a single piece of maple. A solid back is precision laminated to the front. The pickups are Rickenbacker single-coils, which are at the heart of the unmistakeable Ricky sound. One of these through a Vox AC-30 is heaven on a stick!

This beautiful and original example with its serial number of K0 7425 dates from November 1987. It's finished in the very sexy Jetglo (black) finish, and comes in its original USA hard case, which looks just like a period Fender® case except for the increased width for the bigger body. The body is 15 1/4" wide and 2" deep. The guitar sports the "R" tailpiece that was introduced in 1963.

Condition is excellent, with the clear fretboard finish showing no wear at all. The original frets also show almoast no wear, with just the tiniest amount of wear on the first three frets, and that's it! There are a few tiny chips to the body edges, but totally original and unmolested.
