This beautiful acoustic guitar was handmade in 2005 by renowned Queensland (Australia) luthier Michael Palm from selected imported timbers. It is based on a vintage Martin® OM (Orchestra Model), a size which many (including me) think is the perfect combination of fairly compact (000 size) body dimensions and a longish 25.4 inch scale length. Click here to read a great article on the OM (which was originally only produced in the early 1930s by Martin), and click here to see the differences in the various Martin model dimensions.

Michael made this guitar with an AAA Sitka Spruce top, AAAA Indian Rosewood sides and back, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, bound Mahogany neck, abalone dot position markers, lovely vintage style nickel-plated Grover open tuners, and a Fishman under-saddle pickup with soundhole volume and tone controls.

Unplugged, this guitar has a beautiful, warm tone with nice clarity, surprising volume, and a balanced tonal response. Plugged in, it will be limited only by your acoustic amp or the PA.

This beautiful guitar is comfortable to play with an easy action, is a dream for fingerstyle playing (with the OM 1 3/4" nut width, rather than the more usual 1 11/16 Dreadnaught width), and delivers a rich, complex voice for other playing styles.

The guitar is in excellent plus condition, with only the slightest of playing marks. It comes in a plush-lined hard-shell case. New, this guitar would cost in excess of $4000 without the pickup and case, but this stunner has been carefully played in for the last 5 years. Palm guitars are highly regarded, and are played by some of Australia's acoustic greats, such as Kirk Lorange, Michael Fix and Ben MacGregor. Michael Palm's website is still under construction, but you can read about his guitars and his philosophies on guitar-building here.

This guitar is only reluctantly offered for sale by me after having outlayed a lot on a 1995 Brazilian Rosewood 00 size by Gerard Gilet. This is my frontline gigging acoustic, and will be sadly missed.
