| Here we have a 1995 Orville SG guitar, Cherry Red in colour. Orville is the made-in-Japan (MIJ) brand of Gibson, and is very highly regarded (in much the same way that the products of Fender Japan are now recognised for their accuracy and high quality of workmanship). This is a very resonant SG. It has a few marks and blemishes as to be expected on a 12 year old guitar, which include slight worming on the back (nothing through the lovely, deep finish), some impressions and dents along the side of the headstock and a few on the top of the headstock, another on the top above the rhythm pickup, and a few other minor markings (check out the detail photographs in the 'more pictures' link below), but overall this example is in wonderful condition. The neck is superb and in excellent condition, and the original frets are also excellent. The guitar is totally original and has the original humbuckers which sound fantastic (and are becoming quite sought-after in their own right). This SG is very lightweight, at just 3kg. Body and neck are Mahogany and it has a Rosewood fretboard, with the woods being up to the amazing standard the Japanese always impress me with. This grouse guitar comes complete with a matching, shaped CNB hard case, ready to gig for many decades yet! Sold to Chris
