Serial number of 153 puts this 'Jumbuck' JB-6 at about a 1980 manufacture date. Only 315 of these expensive guitars were made by Maton between 1977 and 1984, with a retail price of $935 back in '83 (according to the Maton Guitars website). Rock maple neck combined with Australian Sassafras body and super-rigid construction gives the same legendary sustain and tone of the JB-4 bass. This JB6 electric guitar is supremely comfortable, yet weighs in at a beautifully light 7.5 pounds. Original Satin finish is in good condition, with less than the usual amount of belt buckle rash and handling marks, but just enough to give the guitar some character. Definitely played, but definitely not abused. Frets are still easily at 90%, and the guitar is all pretty much original exept neck pickup, which was replaced with Dimarzio PAF (nice!!). This vintage Maton comes with its original hard shell case. Sold to Zane
