This is a delightful vintage Maton classical or folk (nylon string) guitar. It is by a long shot the best we have come across. The C-30 model was a long-lived model for Maton, lasting between 1961 and 1968. The top is solid spruce, while the neck, back and sides are maple, giving a wonderful bright, highly projected sound. Fretboard and bridge are beautiful Brazilian Rosewood, a highly prized tonewood no longer available in commercial quantities. Serial numbers ran from 101 to 974. This beautiful one-owner example has serial number 206, which tallies with the owner's clear recollection that he bought it in 1962. The body has only the lightest of playing wear, and the original case is still as beautiful as ever. The finish is original, with the clear top and 'deep mahogany' side and back hand-rubbed finish being in great condition. Very collectable, very playable (the tone and the playability will astound you), and very affordable for a collectable grade vintage Maton. Sold to Friederike in Germany
