This is a gem! Duke Robillard owns one, and after getting this one in and playing it, I can see why! It is a Swedish-made Levin 330 archtop electric, and is in stunning original condition. Everything, from the tuners through to the knobs, tailpiece, pickups and bridge, is dead original. The guitar is made from solid timbers throughout, with a carved Spruce top, solid flame Maple back and sides, and Mahogany neck with an Ebony/Maple/Ebony centre lamination. Fretboard is Rosewood.

The original frets show barely any wear, and the fretboard shows none at all. The top has some scratching from the bass-side post of the bridge, which has been moved across the top of the guitar at some stage, and there is some crazing of the original finish, but overall the condition of this guitar is quite amazing.

Serial number is 408711 (stamped into the top of the headstock - see the close-up pic in the 'more pictures' link below, which dates the guitar to mid 1960. This vintage Levin comes with its original hard shell case, but the case is showing its age - still quite solid, but very tatty.

The Levin company of Sweden was founded by luthier Herman Karlsson Levin in 1900, and the first guitar and mandolin factory was set up in Gothenburg, Sweden. Prior to establishing the factory, Levin had a shop in Manhattan.

Levin was purchased in the early 1970s by the Martin Guitar company. The last Levin guitars were made in 1977.
