Left-handed guitarists have always been at a disadvantage when it comes to sourcing good quality vintage guitars, something we try our hardest to address here at Grouse Guitars!

This is an extremely nice left-handed Strat with a serial number dating from 1977-79 (serial number S767519). Neck and body marking definitely confirm that they have always been together (same serial number on each). However, the pickups and pots all date from 1981. The solder joints all seem original and untouched, so maybe this guitar was finally completed and sold in 1981, with the late '70s body and neck having languished in the factory waiting for sales of left-handed instruments to catch up? Or maybe the left-handed decals with serial numbers simply got used up at a slower rate than their right-handed counterparts?

The guitar has been virtually unplayed, and is in remarkable condition. The Ash body rings forever, and is a particularly attractive example with very well-matched grain patterning evident in the joins under the original clear finish. Weight is 4.5kg (9.9 pounds).

There are a couple of chips, but you would be hard-pressed to find a better example of a '70s Strat, especially left-handed. The value of these is rising extremely quickly.

The guitar comes with its original Fender moulded hard shell case, also in great condition.
