These beautiful Maton guitars - in a limited run of only 100 - were specially produced to celebrate the anniversary of Federation within Australia. Serial numbers run from 1901 to 2001 - this guitar is serial number 1958. A great year even if I say so myself! Featuring a jumbo body, extensive abalone inlays, gloss back finish, "Federation" engraving on the 12th fret block marker, Grover machines and the Southern Cross on the pickguard, with the state-of-the-art AP5 pickup, this guitar is uniquely Australian. The Federation model has a AAA-grade solid spruce top and Queensland maple back and sides, giving the deep 16"-wide Jumbo body the perfect brightness to keep response even right across the spectrum. This model also comes with the special black hard case, and the original case, also in mint condition, comes with this guitar. Of course the original certificate of authenticity, fully laminated for protection, is included. The limited-edition Federation will become a highly collectable vintage, without doubt. Don't miss this opportunity. New the Federation sells for around $4000 (the best price I could find is $3800). This example is truly mint, displaying only the tiniest of production indentations in the woods (visible only because of the gloss black finish, and only under the correct lighting conditions - a new example I checked had more and larger indentations). A great collectable Maton acoustic guitar, either for the player or astute investor. Sold to Vaughan "Hi everyone. If you've gone through all the amp knobs and you're reading the guestbook then it's pretty clear that you're as impressed with Neil's Grouse site as I have been. Neil obviously sleeps next to his computer because he answers your emails within 30 seconds of you hitting "send". Yet he still finds the time to locate and list some terrific vintage and quality contemporary guitars and amps. Thanks Neil; the Maton Federation is perfect, your price was extremely fair and your communication second-to-none. Keep up the good work!"
