Here we have a 1977 vintage OMI wood-body, round-neck Dobro 66 in extremely good condition. It is a one-owner guitar, and comes with its mint original hardshell case, factory warranty card/hang tag, purchase receipts and polishing cloths.

Serial number is D10997, which makes it a 1977 build, confirmed by an inspection inside the body under the cone, which shows a pencilled build date of 10th November 1977 (see the photos in the 'more pictures' link below).

The body is bound front and back, and it has a 12-fret neck. The body on the 66 model is particularly attractive, as the laminated body is sandblasted using a patterned mask before the final sunburst and clear coats are applied, giving a stunning two-tone pattern in relief where the top layer of wood is sanded away by the blasting. This is the only example of this model I have yet come across.

This OMI Dobro has been fitted since new with a very discrete single-coil magnetic pickup - the large P-90 style coil is under the soundboard, and only the rectangular magnet shows above the fretboard, virtually invisible in its discrete location just at the end of the neck. Very neat, and very effective! (check the detailed photographs in the 'more pictures' link below)

Condition of this 1977 vintage Dobro is very close to mint, with the barest of chips, scratches, markings or play wear. Likewise, the original plush-lined hard shell case is in great condition - this vintage Dobro has been pampered!
