Col Joye (born Colin Jacobsen in 1939) was Australia's first pop star, and with his band, the Joy Boys, was very popular in the '60s and '70s. Sydney's Powerhouse Museum has one of these guitars, which can be seen here.

Here is a delightful little acoustic guitar, unashamedly proclaiming itself to be a "Col Joye model" from the period of the height of Col Joye's popularity - the 1960s.

These guitars have been confirmed by Col Joye as having been made in Japan.

Col also indicated that it was one of these guitars that was Tommy Emmanuel's very first guitar!

It's in extremely original and good condition, with only minor marking to its body (check the detailed pictures in the link below). The neck is straight, although the action is quite high. However, it is doubtful that the buyer would be buying this guitar to actually play it - it is a delightful collectible in its own right.

The construction of the guitar is quite amazing. The incredibly complex rosette around the sound hole is all inlaid with mother-of-pearl and alternate bands of black and white plastic, not painted, and the guitar has multiple binding on the top, and single binding on the back.
