This thing is amazing. Made in 1978, but presents virtually as new. This 1978 vintage Matsumoku made Aria Pro II Primary Bass lawsuit copy of a Fender® Jazz Bass®. Serial number is C780789, showing it was made in March 1978 in the highly-regarded Matsumoku factory. This made in Japan (MIJ) bass dates from the height of the Japanese lawsuit era, and is a stunningly accurate copy of the block marker Fender® original it mimics. And not just in looks! Playability and tone are ridiculously accurate too - you will be amazed. Weight is 4.5kg (9.9 pounds). Body is a nice, resonant fine-grained Ash (3-piece, like most Fenders of the same period), while the neck is Maple with a Maple fretboard (and therefore no Walnut skunk stripe on the back of the neck), with full white binding to the neck and white pearloid block position markers just like a mid 1970s Fender® Jazz Bass®. It's a very attractive package! The original frets show almost no wear, which matches the untouched condition of the clear finish on the Maple fretboard. Pickups, body and scratchplate show no play wear at all, and it's only a couple of small chips in the edges that show the bass was ever handled at all. Grouse!! This bass came without a case, so will be shipped securely boxed, and I will throw in a gig bag. If the buyer prefers, I can supply a new CNB nard shell case at cost (around $120). Sold to Chris
