Here we have a lovely, dead-genuine 1-owner Fender Precision Bass (or P-bass) in its original case. Serial number is S884690, and the CTS pots both date to the 2nd week of 1979. Weight for an Ash-bodied 1970s Precision Bass is not bad, at 4.7kg (10.4 pounds), and the bass shows very little wear. The original case comes with this bass, in good working condition, but some scuffing and a section of the bound ends having come off on the lower corner (see the 'more pictures' link below). I doubt this bass came out of the dark very often, as both the neck and the body are remarkably free of any discolouration from light, with the Maple neck still showing its pinkish hues, and the Ash body its relatively yellow hues. The original frets display virtually no wear, and the only wear on the neck is the usual lifting of some of the clear finish in the lower edge of the fretboard. The back of the neck has a couple of small marks from a stand or similar, and that's about it. A very clean example. $ not recently valued for the present market but feel free to make a serious offer.
