Absolutely beautiful. The old Queensland Maple veneer on this single-cone biscuit style wood body resonator has to be seen to be believed. Photographs simply can't do it justice. Gerard informs me that the veneer was "a really old Queensland Maple I bought from the Raymond Veneer Panel Company many years ago". He also pointed out that it has a one piece mahogany tone well and a glued and pinned tenon neck joint. The guitar has a very cool Seymour Duncan 2NJ mini stacked humbucker, and also has the latest Fishman Resophonic Passive Resonator Guitar Pickup fitted to the cone. The output jack is stereo, with the Seymour Duncan being the pickup selected when a normal guitar lead is used, but in the case is a stereo / two x mono adapter, allowing the passive Fishman to be used with a suitable acoustic amplifier, either on its own or in tandem with the Seymour Duncan. The guitar is in astounding condition, presenting very much as new. This is truly a work of art (not uncommon for Gerard Gilet) and comes in a stunning, handmade hard case that was made specifically for this guitar in 1990. It is made from ply, is edged with aluminium, covered with luggage cloth, has a leather handle, and is lined with the most amazing, heavy-duty plush fabric. A very treasured Gilet! not for sale
