This Stradivarius Special is a student guitar, dating from the early to mid 1950s. The guitar was made here in Melbourne, Australia, by Maton. We previously sold a lovely little guitar amplifier with the same maroon colouring and Stradivarius Special name (click here to see it). The Stradivarius Special name seems to have been used by a Sydney retailer in the early 1950s. This is a very collectable little gem, rather than being a player. It has been played, and has the lovely patina that only genuine playing can give. Action is a little high, measuring about 5mm at the 12th fret (body join). Everything is original, from the finish through to the tuners and scratchplate. I have left the strings rather than replace them, as I think they are also the originals! Overall length is 95cm, scale length is 29.55cm, and body depth is 8.3cm. Sold to Paul
