1981 Hondo / Tokai Danelectro twin-neck |
||
Hondo was a pioneer of Korean guitar-making, beginning in 1969 as a joint venture between Samick of Korea and International Music Corporation of Fort Woth, Texas. Their best guitars were made in Japan by Tokai, and included the Longhorn, an active-electronics take on Danelectro's Guitarlin. This is the bass version. Unbelievable sound and playability, not to mention rarity and looks! The lower neck is a standard 4-string bass, utilising DiMarzio pickups as standard equipment in a Precision bass configuration. The upper neck is the amazing addition! 8 strings in octave pairs; same tuning as standard, but with the addition of an extra string tuned an octave above each 'normal' bass string. Unbelievable punch! A solo played on this baby leaves a lasting impression. Pickups are in the classic P/J configuration, giving a great selection of tones for maximum punch and definition. DiMarzio pickups once again guarantee tone that can't be beaten. This rare and mint bass comes in its original case. GROUSE, GROUSE,GROUSE!!! Sold to Ryan |
